HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria
Control Program
SCHF implements integrated programs that address these co-endemic diseases, recognizing their interconnectedness and the need for comprehensive, community-based interventions.
Our goal is to reduce new infections, improve treatment outcomes, and mitigate the socio-economic impact of these diseases.
Key Activities:
Awareness and Prevention Education:
We conduct targeted educational sessions on safe practices, early symptom recognition, and the importance of testing for HIV, TB and Malaria.
Our campaigns aim to reduce stigma and encourage health-seeking behaviors
Community-Based Testing and Counseling:
SCHF supports and conducts voluntary counseling and testing (VCT) services for HIV, active case finding for TB, and rapid
diagnostic testing for Malaria in communities.
We ensure confidentiality and provide immediate linkage to care for positive cases.
Treatment Adherence and Support:
For individuals on treatment, we provide counseling, follow-up, and support to ensure adherence to medication regimens, which is crucial for successful outcomes and preventing drug resistance.
This includes directly observed treatment (DOTS) for TB patients and support for antiretroviral therapy (ART)
for HIV patients.
Vector Control and Environmental Health:
In Malaria-endemic areas, we promote and distribute insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) and educate communities on environmental management practices to reduce mosquito breeding sites.
We also advocate for indoor residual spraying (IRS) programs.
Capacity Building for Healthcare Providers: We train healthcare workers at various levels on updated guidelines for diagnosis, treatment, and management of HIV/AIDS,TB, and Malaria, ensuring quality care delivery
